new line of precision dovetail slides from Master, a member of The Setco Group,
is computer designed using advanced solid modeling techniques to ensure accuracy
and repeatability in test, gage, motion control, and machining applications.
The Master DS Series of dovetail slides is available in three models - Express, Select and Super Select. Each model in the series meets specific design, choice, delivery and price needs.
The Express DS Slides, for example, are engineered for applications requiring compact design and quick shipment. Available in 4", 6", 8", 10", or 12" base widths, they are assembled from off-the-shelf components at Master's 60,000 square foot facility in Hutchinson, Kansas. Express slides can ship ready to install within one week of order placement.
Select DS Slides expand choice of drive styles, accessories, and sizes, offering base and saddle lengths in 1" increments up to 64". These precision slides are ideal for use in work feeders, positioning fixtures, workholding and shuttle devices, and assembly equipment. They are shipped within three to five weeks of order placement.
Super Select DS Slides can meet virtually any requirement in size and capability. They are designed around a standard baseline platform which allows Master's solutions engineers to create custom slides without the long lead times and cost penalties normally associated with custom designs. Lead time depends upon the complexity of design.
In addition to being computer designed, Master's new DS precision dovetail slides are machined to close tolerance specifications in a manufacturing cell dedicated to slide production at the Hutchinson plant. A quality team, employing high technology inspection systems combined with statistical analysis techniques, monitors production operations.
A CD-Rom is available so the entire DS slide series, and related CAD drawings, can be downloaded to a PC. This provides instant reference and engineering data to speed up the design process, reducing time to market for user products.
